The life of a Building Surveyor is always interesting, this image of a chimney stack has been taken with a thermal imaging camera. On a recent project, our client reported an issue with what was initially thought to be damp ingress, however a closer inspection revealed the possibility of a bee hive, which was confirmed by a local bee expert from @thehampshirebeecompany. They have identified a large nest and the plan is to carefully remove and rehouse the bees and the damp ingress reported internally, is actually thought to be honey running down the stack!
